The Air Jordan 9(IX) modle was Originally released in November 1993, and it was the first Air Jordan model release after MC Jordan's retirement. It is noted that Michael Jordan has never played a full season of  NBA Basketball wearing these sneakers.
  The Air Jordan IX (9) was released in 1993. On October 6th 1993, Jordan gave the basketball world a shock when he announced his retirement from the NBA. This was just one day before Training Camp and it was not what anyone had        expected at this time. The greatest basketball player of all time retiring at the age of 30. A decision probably affected by the fact that his father was murdered in North Carolina in the summer of 1993.
  The Air Jordan IX model featured an inner sock sleeve and nubuck accents like the Air Jordan VII's and Jordan 8 Shoes model's. The sole featured different symbols and languages of different countries.
  In popular culture and the children's movie, the Little Rascals one of the bullies chasing Alf Alfa and Spanky is wearing a pair of Air Jordan IX.American Rap Icon Tupac Shakur was also known to wear Air Jordan Shoes  in a popular "Thug Life" photo took in 1993.
